The Go-Between
This screenplay by Harold Pinter was filmed in 1970 and starred Julie Christie, Michael Redgrave and Edward Fox. Tombland Alley, Tombland, the old passageway and restaurant at The Maids Head Hotel and Norwich Cathedral were all used as locations. The film also received a gala screening in Norwich which was attended by the Queen.
Stardust
This Hollywood Blockbuster brought Claire Danes to the streets of Norwich and in particular Elm Hill. The Britons Arms was magically transformed into the The Slaughtered Prince Pub during filming.
Dean Spanley
Peter O'Toole, Jeremy Northam and Sam Neill starred in this film which was set in Edwardian England and partly filmed at Norwich Cathedral.
Jack The Giant Killer
The most recent film to use Norwich Cathedral Quarter as a location was Jack the Giant Killer which shot some of its scenes at Norwich Cathedral. The film is due out next year (2012) and will feature Ewan McGregor as one of its main stars.
