The Norfolk Broads have made a commitment to accessibility, including accessible boats, tourist attractions and accommodation.
Boats
Ferry Marina offer self drive electric launches with electric lifts for wheelchairs and remote control joysticks for steering. The boats can accommodate up to 11 passengers and up to 4 wheelchair users.
If you prefer to let someone else do the driving, disabled visitors can enjoy river trips with
Broads Tours. Their boats can accommodate up to 4 manual wheelchair users and have hydraulic lifts.
The Broads Authority also offer guided boat trips on Barton Broad on Ra, a solar powered boat. Ra is an open craft with convenient ramp access.
Cycling and Wheelchair Access
Cyclists are catered for too - the cycle hire centre at Ludham Bridge has two electric cycles that can be hired by visitors who have limited mobility. There are a number of easy access paths and boardwalks around
The Norfolk Broads which are ideal for wheelchair users and visitors with pushchairs.
All the craft workshops at
Wroxham Barns, together with many of their attractions including the restaurant and junior farm are wheelchair accessible, plus they have disabled toilets. Guide dogs are also welcomed.
Accommodation
Norfolk Country Cottages and Clippesby Hall both offer self catering accommodation for the less able visitor. Luxury 3 and 4 star accessible holiday cottages, boasting fantastic riverside locations are available at Horning with
King Line Cottages.
The
Nancy Oldfield Trust offers self catering accommodation comprising of 10 berths ashore, which are fully wheelchair accessible and include a large sitting room, spacious kitchen and dining room, toilet and shower facilities for disabled guests and facilities for carers. There are also 6 berths afloat, on a yacht and a motor cruiser, which include wheelchair access, hoists and lifts.

Activities
The
Nancy Oldfield Trust offers and teaches a variety of activities including sailing, canoeing, motor boating, fishing, bird-watching and environmental studies, to anyone who is disadvantaged or has a disability be it physical, mental or emotional, temporary or permanent.
The facilities can be used on a day/part day basis or for a residential visit for guests and carers. All activities are run by a team of qualified and experienced special needs staff and volunteers. Carers can also participate.
