Norwich City Centre Partnership

As Norwich continues to grow it has been recognised that the city centre will need to change, grow and adapt to accommodate the new needs of the city. The CCP will have a key role in helping to facilitate and support that growth, advocating the importance of the City Centre.

Our partnership, Norwich City Centre Partnership (CCP), is a powerful mechanism that forms the perfect vehicle through which to focus on the issues that concern us all, work up effective solutions and then make sure they actually happen.

Business Strategy

Marketing and promotion
• Work with appropriate local organisations in raising the profile of Norwich as a distinctive retail, leisure and business destination
• Bring more customers to city centre businesses and build footfall, dwell-time and spend in the city centre
• Liaise with local trade associations, Chamber of Commerce, Norwich Economy Round Table, etc
• Build business networks to encourage businesses to stay in the city centre

Environment & Cleanliness
• Work with partners to achieve and maintain the best attainable standards of cleanliness
• Work with decision makers on refurbishment of public areas through consultation with appropriate partners
• Continue to support award winning enhancements, e.g. Norwich in Bloom
• Work to ensure that the City Centre meets the needs of the increasing residential population

Safety and security
• Work with the Safer Norwich Partnership to help improve safety and reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and assist in delivery of the Safer Norwich Partnership priorities.
• Contribute to work on developing a Night-time Strategy and action plan

Accessibility
• Support and influence City and County Council plans and programmes for effective transport traffic management in the city transport.
• Encourage members to take a proactive approach to transport management and promotion.

Membership and Finance
• Reduce CCMP dependence on public support by increasing membership revenue
• Broaden membership base from independents and non-retail businesses to include a wider range of organisations with interests in the City Centre
• Communicate with members and non-members and promote the benefits of a collective body with the power to inform and persuade
• Ensure full appraisals are undertaken prior to committing funding
