Farm Stays and B&Bs
Nothing says relaxing like a getaway to the countryside in the perfect cottage or B&B. So why not book yourselves into one of the lovely options below and really recharge your batteries.
If you want to escape and spend some quality time with family or friends, Dairy Barns has two completely self-contained cottages. Cowman’s Cottage is a single storey, semi-detached 2-bedroom cottage with a large garden. Or there’s Willow Farm Cottage which is just a 15-minute walk to the beach – making those early morning strolls oh so charming and easy. Don’t worry if you don’t want to stay in a cottage; they also have 6 cosy B&Bs which means being treated to a delicious breakfast served in the main barn OR really get into the relaxing spirit and have a breakfast in bed hamper. Bliss!
Now if you want to really treat yourself (and why shouldn’t you?), the best way to do it is by booking into Byfords Posh B&B, oh so swanky and luxurious. It’s situated in the heart of Georgian Holt which is close to the North Norfolk coast. With 16 B&B rooms and a self-catering apartment, it’s a great way to move away from the hustle and bustle of a city and get some you-time in a quaint market town.
Nothing says a break like some time by the river and with Norwich being the gateway to the Broads this is a great option if you want to be close to the city but not in it. Waveney River Centre is the place to go if you’re looking for luxury lodges, cottages, penthouses or camping – they have a great choice of accommodation. Some lodges even have outdoor hot tubs… oh go on, spoil yourselves. This Easter there are three new yurts to try out. The location is perfect: set in the countryside, on the river with a nature reserve and great pub to enjoy a pint and a meal.
East View Farm Holiday Cottages are award-winning barn conversions close to the heart of the Broads, yet less than 30 minutes’ drive from Norwich. Here you can enjoy day trips into Norwich, hire day boats on the water, drink in country pubs and take some wonderful walks. Read our City of Stories blog post about this lovely place and why we love it so much.
Like a barn conversion? Then it doesn’t get more quaint than a stay at Alborough House Holiday Cottage, located in rural Norfolk, Forncett St Mary, to the south of Norwich. Choose from two fantastic barns and enjoy the charm and character these home from home spaces exude. This is also a fantastic option if you’re wanting to explore the South Norfolk area by visiting historic market towns.
You don’t have to go too far out of Norwich to get the rural-countryside vibe - trust us. The Old Rectory’s Dowagers Cottage in Thorpe St Andrew is only a stone’s throw away from the city-centre but allows you to escape with nature and relax. This is a 4* self-catering property for two guests, making it the perfect reason to leave the kids behind or treat you both to an Easter getaway. Spend some time in the city and then head back to this safe haven for the perfect stay.
