The East High Cheerleaders will be demonstrating lively dance routines to favourite songs from both High School Musical and High School Musical 2. The Wildcats Basketball Team will also be wowing audiences by showing off routines set to pumping tracks from both films and even teaching a few lucky visitors a few tricks themselves!
Then, the team at Disney Store Chapelfield, will be calling on some very special guests to help with the official cutting of the ribbon – Kyle McTiernan aged 13, a local resident and patient at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital will be joined by two Disney favourites to open the store, in an event sure to thrill the whole family!
In addition to inviting Kyle to act as guest of honour at the Grand Opening, Disney Store will also be donating 10% of the day’s total sales to the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity as part of The Walt Disney Company’s initiative to raise £10 million towards the charity’s capital appeal.
The new store at Chapelfield Norwich is the first store in the region and the fourth store in the UK to embody the brand new Disney Store concept. Featuring unique and exciting technology to enhance the retail experience for kids and adults alike, the new look store is sure to make a visit to Disney Store an even more magical experience.
The spectacular new features at Disney Store Chapelfield include a Pixie Dust Arch which welcomes guests to the store and which is made up of fibre optic lights that change colour throughout the day giving a twinkling pixie dust effect. Then, at the centre of the store is the impressive ‘Heart of Disney’; a 10 foot tower with a 360 degree wraparound screen showcasing clips from the latest Disney releases as well as details on upcoming events.
In addition to this there are seven new plasma screens around the store so that guests can ‘shop and watch’ in style as well as mini plasma screens embedded into the cash and wrap area ensuring young shoppers are entertained too. To show off favourite products in an innovative way, an overhead moving rail has been installed on the ceiling which moves around the area of the store and which carries Perspex pods that showcase the latest toys and gifts from Disney Store.
