Norwich Theatre Royal reopens after its £10 million modernisation, 21/11/2007

The theatre has been transformed, with new, more comfortable seats and more legroom in the auditorium, a new frontage and double the amount of foyer space.

Here are some facts and figures about the modernisation:

• The project has taken 226 days to complete
• 80,000 screws were used in the new flooring for the Circle
• 1,700 square metres of carpet and 500 square metres of vinyl have been laid in the foyer and auditiorium
• 7 tonnes of steelwork were used to build the new front of the Circle
• 1,725 litres of paint have decorated the transformed theatre
• There are double the number of toilets in the new theatre
• Lifts have been installed, giving access to the Stalls, Circle and the new Cafe Resaturant
