Norwich University College of the Arts - Student Christmas Show

Students will be displaying 250 works of art which will all be for sale, priced under £50. Items include paintings (framed and unframed), drawings, textiles, photos, printed material such as T-shirts, and jewellery. Cash only and you can take your purchase away with you there and then

To begin your seasonal journey visit NORWICHRISTMAS - The City’s Festive Fayre at the Forum, December 2010 dates TBC (usually early December).
Enjoy up to 50 spectacular craft stalls presented by Norfolk Craft Fair. Celebrating the talent and craftsmanship of Norfolk artists, designers and producers, the fair is an ideal hunting ground for unique, handmade and individual gifts for friends and family. The Christmas market is located in and around the impressive Forum one of Norwich’s newest buildings built for the millennium by Sir Norman Foster and flanked by St Peter Mancroft a 15th century church. The centre–piece of Christmas celebrations at The Forum and across Norwich, is a magnificent 60ft Christmas Tree. On a par with the famous Trafalagar Square tree in London and as tall as the building itself, the magnificent spruce is a fantastical sight, casting a magical glow over Millennium Plain and beyond. A compelling line-up of supporting activity will also take place all around.

Fun for the whole family is firmly on the agenda at Dragon Hall, an outstanding example of a medieval merchant's trading hall, and so presents an authentic location for the annual Medieval Christmas Market held (usually) on the first weekend of December. Engage with stallholders in costume and appreciate Dragon Hall traditionally decorated for the season. With a tempting mixture of stalls from all over the UK and northern Europe selling a wide variety of medieval themed goods and original crafts. Free Christmas activities for children, this event is a shopping experience not to be missed. And if the market isn’t enough to get you nicely into the Christmas spirit savour some mulled wine and refreshments on the theme of German Christmas markets.

Norwich Cathedral throws its popular annual 3 day Historic Christmas Fayre (usually) the second weekend in December . This celebration is firmly ensconced in the Norwich Christmas calendar with people travelling from afar to experience it. This amazing 900 year old structure with the largest cloisters in England is a breathtaking backdrop to an event that includes; The Guild of Historical Interpreters with costumed characters selling holy relics and interesting potions, stalls offering historical items and replica artefacts from the last 2000 years - everything from Roman mosaics to rope, frankincense to fudge, pottery to pewter and a programme of events including Minstrels and entertainers from across the two millennia performing and demonstrating a fabulous selection of instruments and tunes, as well as dances and tales from the past.

Relish the smell of the hog roast, indulge in some mulled wine, shop at the market stalls selling perfect gifts and presents and soak up the atmosphere which you will delight in!

The Polish community will present some of the features of Christmas in Poland with their Polish Christmas Market. The celebration will include Christmas decorations, and Christmas fare. This is then followed by Polish Mass at 4pm.
