Follow two disused railway lines between Norwich and the historic market town of Aylsham. This 26 mile long walking route is home to the Wensum Valley Special Area of Conservation. The landscape hosts rare and protected birds, reptiles, mammals, and plants, as well as great riverside views.
Just a short walk or drive from Norwich city centre you will find the Whitlingham Country Park. With over 280 acres of beautiful countryside this is a perfect spot for walkers, cyclists, birdwatchers and family outings. Enjoy cycle routes, picnic meadows, and stunning lakeside views.
The stunning UEA Broads offers brilliant riverside views and immersive nature experiences. Enjoy a circular cycle route and take in the beautiful landscape, before stopping for a picnic by the lakeside. Once you’ve finished cycling, why not wander the Sainsbury Centre sculpture park, a free outdoor park with sculptures from artists such as Henry Moore, Elizabeth Frink and Antony Gormley.
Just outside of the city you’ll find Eaton Park, one of Norwich’s most popular heritage outdoor spaces. With over 80 acres of parkland and gardens to explore, there’s hours of fun to be had. There’s also a great little café in the park where you can grab a nice cold drink in the summer, or a hot coffee on those cold winter cycles.
