Same brand, different location and a very different experience.
Excitingly, earlier this year, Café Britannia opened a second dining venue, Bistro Britannia, in the historic Guildhall in Norwich.
When you visit you will instantly recognise our trademark Britannia Enterprises style and quality, but you’ll also enjoy quite a different menu and ambiance. Here you’ll find our brilliant city-centre buffet breakfast as well as a delicious snacks, lunch and dinner options.
Unusual, dramatic and atmospheric, Bistro Britannia is also a great venue for quirky and intimate events and we’re developing quite a following for our dynamic programme which features music, comedy and even paranormal themed events.
We’ve worked in partnership with Norwich City Council to re-open this iconic city centre building to the public, enabling visitors to access all the history of this Grade I listed building which has placed such a central and pivotal role in Norwich life since it was built in the 1400s.
Just as with Café Britannia, Bistro Britannia is staffed by Category D (low-risk) prisoners serving at HMP Norwich, working alongside paid employees. All profits generated from Bistro Britannia are donated to community projects, including customer tips which are donated to Victim Support.
Visit the 13th century undercroft and dungeon, the police cells, Victorian Court room, the Tudor ‘Mayor’s Court Room and the Georgian Court room – now a café. Cost £5 includes a cup of tea or coffee in the café. No advance booking required, meet and pay the guide in the Guildhall foyer. Tours every Monday at 2pm.
We look forward to welcoming you soon, whether it be for a cup of tea and a slice of a cake in the afternoon, a bumper city-centre breakfast or an intriguing night out...
