Das Fenster and the Alibis | Head Out, Not Home

Castle and Marketplace

Das Fenster & The Alibis were formed late in 2012, when Belfast born Das Fenster got together in Hamburg with Will ‘Pearly’ Gates and ‘The Chemist’, to jam some songs he had written. Combining elements of Rockabilly, Jazz, and Afro-Caribbean, with a macabre sense of theatre. They relocated to Norfolk, England, and quickly established themselves as something ‘a bit different’ and landed support slots with bands like The Wedding Present, and The Troggs to name but a few. After recording their second album they decided to expand their sound and brought in Donna Matrix, and former nun, ‘Sister’ Sarah on Saxophones.

Das Fenster & The Alibis sing tales of crime, insanity, and close calls with the devil. The rumbling drums, twanging guitar, and thumping double-bass are sure to possess your soul and your soles, and make you want to move to their sinful rhythms. The band perform under the protective power of their ever-present voodoo-shrine.

Head Out, Not Home is a series of free live music and entertainment events happening in Norwich city centre throughout the summer. Taking place Sunday afternoons from 24 July to 4 September, these free family friendly performances are open to all.
