Christmas shopping in Norwich, with the city’s distinct medieval street pattern and compactness, can be enjoyed on foot without the need for a bus trip or a tiresome long walk.

From the tip of The Lanes at Upper St Giles, to the edge of the Cathedral Quarter on Wensum Street, to the Royal ArcadeNorwich MarketCastle Mall and intu Chapelfield - all can be covered in a day. However, if you have longer than a day Christmas shopping over a couple of days makes it more enjoyable, so treat yourself to an overnight stay just to make sure you’ve fitted everything in!

And the beauty of shopping at Christmas is that amongst the permanent shops, there are always new pop-up retailers and Christmas markets to spend your hard earned cash in – several times over!

And dotted in-between you’ll find great artisan coffee shops, small restaurants, city pubs and high street favourite eateries to make sure you are well rested and fuelled to continue for the rest of the day. Norwich Market has a wealth of incredible food, whether you want something quick on the go whilst shopping, or have time to leisurely indulge, there are ample stalls!

Don’t miss a visit to Country & Eastern – a magnificent ancient building off Bethel Street which was once a Victorian skating rink – it’s enormous! Today find all manner of treasures from the Far East including art, furniture, accessories, clothes, jewellery and more. It’s a shopper’s paradise and a lovely surprise for a first time visitor.
