Following two disused railway lines between Norwich and the historic market town of Aylsham, Marriott’s way is a popular route for walkers and cyclists. It’s 26 miles long and begins in the city centre where Barn Road meets Barker Street.
It’s an escape to the country. Along the route find plenty of wildlife, woodland and wild meadows. And public art plays its part along the railway too: there are signs made from old track to show distances and directions, as well as poems, verse and concrete sculpture all the way along the route. For those on the trail of discovery, this one’s for you.
