Standing at the gateway to both Holkham Hall and the Holkham National Nature Reserve and beach, The Victoria, affectionately known as ‘The Vic’, is a classic English inn owned by the Coke family. There are ten elegant, individually designed bedrooms, with an additional ten across the road in one of the oldest buildings on the Estate: Ancient House. The sympathetic refurbishment of Ancient House in 2015 has retained many of the building’s original features, such as the bay windows and Tudor chimney pots, combining authentic charm with luxurious modernity.
All bedrooms have been designed with an emphasis on comfort and quality; guests can opt for a double or twin bedroom, or a spacious family attic room, or from a choice of four suites in Ancient House which have their own attractive sitting rooms. For guests with disabilities, there is a ground floor double room with full access and a wet room. The rooms are made up of mix of contemporary and antique pieces of furniture which add to the charm. The rooms are all named after shooting drives on the Holkham Estate, and you will find nods to this theme in the décor too. Dogs are welcome to stay in the rooms at The Victoria and are also allowed throughout the ground floor of the inn.
The bar and dining rooms offer a relaxed blend of style and comfort, as well as incredible views over the nature reserve. The Victoria serves delicious locally sourced food, much of it grown and raised on the Holkham Estate with a bold emphasis on freshness, simplicity, and value.
