Beethoven Symphony No. 4 Op. 60 in B fl at major
Beethoven Symphony No. 5 Op. 67 in C minor
Thomas Adès and Britten Sinfonia return to Norfolk & Norwich Festival, following their sell-out performance of Beethoven’s Symphonies 1 & 2 in 2017.
Their journey through Beethoven’s symphonies sees them perform the perennially popular, vivacious Symphony No. 5 and the subdued, poignant Symphony No. 4, alongside the inventive music of Irish composer, Gerald Barry. The concert features Barry’s Piano Concerto written specially for, and performed by acclaimed pianist, Nicolas Hodges.
‘Every bar of each symphony seemed thrillingly restored, honed down to their muscular core’ The Guardian
