From Saturday 19th October 2019 19:00 to 21:00
Tchaikovsky/Sudbin: Romeo and Juliet Fantasy-Overture
Tchaikovsky: 2 Nocturnes
Scriabin: Nocturne for left hand
Ravel: Gaspard de la nuit
Yevgeny Sudbin was born in Saint Petersburg in 1980. As a child he moved to Berlin, then aged 17 to London where he studied at The Purcell School and at the Royal Academy of Music. Sudbin’s highly engaging programme ranges from the crystalline textures of Scarlatti to his own dazzling piano transcription of Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Fantasy-Overture. Finishing with Ravel’s demanding and revolutionary ‘Gaspard de la nuit’ will undoubtedly bring this recital to a thrilling conclusion.
