Travel Back in Time around Norwich

From Wednesday 20th December 2017 00:00 to Sunday 24th December 2017 00:00

There’s a new way to get around the City this Christmastime – on an iconic 1965 London Transport Routemaster 64-seater double-decker bus!  In collaboration with Norwich BID, David McMaster who runs Awayadays providing private hire for weddings, tours and special occasions will offer a chance for shoppers to experience an old London Bus with driver and conductor (dressed ready for Christmas of course!) to see some of the City’s festive decorations and to take the opportunity to hop on-hop off at a handful of stops for some Christmas shopping.

From 20th to 24th December the bright red bus will start at Castle Meadow, travel up St Stephens and down Chapelfield Road, then via Bethel Street for the Market, along Exchange Street, Bank Plain and Prince of Wales Road to Station Yard. The shorter return trip will be via Rose Lane to Castle Meadow (with a 15 minute turnaround here).  There will be 4 trips each day starting from 10.30am with the last one departing at 15.00.

This will be a free service, but passengers are encouraged to make a donation for a very worthy local cause – The Benjamin Foundation - who help around 2,000 people across Norfolk and Suffolk each year by providing them with hope, opportunity, stability and independence.
