Bishy Barney Boats offers a small selection of craft mostly powered by electric with one or two diesel engines for choice.
Our electric boats are sleek, retro-styled craft with seating for up to four people. They are quiet and highly manoeuvrable little boats and have proved incredibly popular choices from our site at Thorpe River Green in Norwich. Our Le Bishy Grande electric boats can take up to eight passengers. Our Diesel boat seats up to seven people and can be hired for longer periods, thus giving a little more travelling scope.
Bishy Barney Boats allows you to go where no other hire boat operator will – into the City of Norwich. To do this, you pass under Bishop’s Bridge which has signs telling hire boats to turn around. But in your Bishy, we encourage you to continue under the bridge and along the River Wensum right up to the end of navigation at New Mills.
If you prefer the countryside, head towards the tranquil villages of Brammerton and Surlingham along quiet, uncrowded rivers. The first hour or so gives mostly tree-lined rivers teeming with wildlife. A little further on and the landscape flattens into more marshy areas, again, teeming with wildlife and peppered with pubs.
