Walking & Cycling in Norwich

Pull your shoes on. You're going on an adventure.

Norwich is the perfect place for walkers and bike-enthusiasts alike. It’s a very compact city, made for walking. With pedestrianised streets, alleys and nooks and crannies everywhere, it’s a charming place to stroll around. Take it at your own pace – stop for a coffee, linger at a medieval church. Peek in, look up and definitely slow down. Or if it’s the active life you want – there are plenty of cycle routes to explore. Not to mention country parks with acres of land just around the corner…

Norwich prides itself on its rich history which can be seen around every corner. Through streets like Elm Hill, medieval merchant’s houses like Strangers’ Hall and architecture such as The Guildhall and The Forum. Visit not one but two cathedrals and city green spaces such as the site of Kett’s rebellion at Mousehold Heath and our wondrous Norman castle, high on its mound. There’s a reason to take time to see it all, its glorious diversity, its unexpected ‘old-meets-new’. However, ahead of getting out into our streets and green spaces, please remember to Respect, Protect and Enjoy our wonderful outdoors.
