Being Woman: A 60-Year Milestone at Mandell’s Gallery
Mandell’s Gallery is excited to host Being Woman, a landmark exhibition opening this Spring.
Nestled in the heart of Elm Hill—Norwich’s iconic, historic cobbled lane—Mandell’s Gallery has been a cornerstone of the city’s art scene for decades. This year, the gallery marks a significant milestone as it celebrates an incredible 60th anniversary.
Opening on March 8th to coincide with International Women’s Day, Being Woman is more than just an art show; it is a celebration of the female creative spirit in East Anglia. Curated by the Being Woman collective, the exhibition brings together 26 intergenerational artists with deep roots in Norfolk and Suffolk.
Visitors will find the gallery transformed by a rich tapestry of mediums—from delicate ceramics and bold sculptures to contemporary video, printmaking, and textiles. The works explore the nuances of what it means to be a woman today, touching on poignant themes of identity, history, and the evolving self across different stages of life.
