Book a Bank Holiday break

We’re counting down the days until we can dine with friends, shop till we drop, and – most importantly – book a luxury holiday! And with the Spring Bank Holiday (29-31 May) just around the corner, it’s the perfect chance for us to book a much-needed break in Norwich and Norfolk. Here’s our rundown of amazing bank holiday breaks to enjoy this Spring, everything from quirky city centre apartments and boutique B&B’s to 4-star hotels, coastal lodges, and countryside retreats.

 

City centre stays

18a at The Grosvenor

A relatively new addition to the city centre, 18a at The Grosvenor is a modern 2 bedroom apartment located in the heart of the Norwich Lanes. It’s owned by the same people who run the iconic Grosvenor Fish Bar, and believe us when we say their hospitality is just as amazing as their food! The apartment sleeps up to 4 people, making it the perfect spot for a family getaway or for friends looking to enjoy a weekend in Norwich.

Maids Head Hotel

Relax and unwind in one of The Maids Head Hotel’s stunning rooms or suites this Spring Bank Holiday. With 84 en-suite rooms to choose from, including a range of luxury suites, The Maids Head is perfect for a romantic weekend away or a unique family break. Guests can also relax in The Inside-out Courtyard, the perfect spot for drinks and an al fresco dining. Gothic House

Escape the rush of city life, without leaving the city! Gothic House B&B is a stunning two bedroom, Grade II-listed Regency house hidden away on the edge of the Cathedral Quarter. Head out and explore the city of Norwich, before settling down for a quiet evening surrounded by Georgian splendour. Finish your stay off with a delicious English breakfast using great local produce. Rooms start from £105 per night.

Assembly House

Boasting 11 spacious rooms, six with their own secret gardens, four with their own lounges, The Assembly House is perfect for anyone looking to enjoy a luxury city break. The Assembly House is also home to the Richard Hughes Cookery School, where you can enjoy hands-on cookery classes to master pastry making, sourdough baking, and more. And if that’s not your scene, why not just relax with afternoon tea in the garden, expertly prepared by Richard and his team. Rooms start from £170 per night (including breakfast).

Countryside retreats

Stower Grange Hotel

Just fifteen minutes from the centre of Norwich, and ideally located for easy access to a range of attractions, Stower Grange is a perfect base for a Norfolk break. This beautiful hotel is set in two acres of private wooded grounds and dates back to the 18th Century. Guests can choose from one of eleven en-suite bedrooms, each designed with comfort in mind. Holly Lodge B&B

Holly Lodge Boutique B&B is an award-winning, adults only, luxury bed & breakfast accommodation in the quiet North Norfolk village of Thursford. Based around a former farmhouse dating back nearly 300 years, Holly Lodge now boasts stunning guest rooms in incredible countryside surroundings. Major restoration work in The Main House was carried out in 2019 and the site now offers three modern en-suite rooms, each designed with comfort in mind. Shepherds Hut at Holly Lodge

New for 2021 is the delightful Shepherds Hut at Holly Lodge, a luxury cabin with incredible countryside views. This is the perfect stay for two, with the Shepherd’s Hut boasting a large double bed, fully-functioning kitchen, modern bathroom facilities, a log burner, and a 28-inch flat screen TV. Pinewoods

Looking to finally get away with the kids this year? Then make sure you check out Pinewoods! Nestled behind pine-topped sand dunes at the edge of Wells beach, Pinewoods boasts a fleet of static caravans, six state of the art lodges, and 116 caravan or motorhome pitches, as well as beach huts to hire. This is the perfect coastal adventure for any family and is just a short drive from the stunning grounds of Holkham Hall.
