Norwich, we're all in this together

4 November 2020

Take care, stay safe, and stay at home if you can.

On Saturday, the British Prime Minister announced that a second lockdown would start on Thursday 5 November, and last until Wednesday 2 December. You can find out all the details of the lockdown on the Government website.

In short, people must stay at home, apart from some exceptions including education, work purposes, exercise, and shopping for necessities. Those who can work from home, must. People must not travel within the UK. It’s important that we follow these new restrictions.

Like most people, we’ve been busy preparing for Christmas, and although our plans have changed, our aim is still clear: to support our city, our people, and the businesses within it. We all know how crucial November and December trading is for shops and restaurants, and we know that we must support our locals in any way we can. If we don’t, we might lose them forever.

We understand that money is tight, and it’s difficult now we can’t just pop down into the city to pick up the perfect present. But every item that you buy locally supports the people, families, and businesses of Norwich. If you can shop right here in Norwich and Norfolk, online, over the phone, or via social media, please do.

Right now, we’re working to pull together details of all the businesses that you can shop online with. There are a lot of them, and they all sell amazing things.

If you have a favourite shop, café, restaurant, remember you can support them by writing reviews, following them on social media, recommending them to friends, or visiting them once the restrictions have lifted.

We know the strength of our city. This is an extraordinary Christmas, and we’re all in it together.
