Arushi Mudgal is one of the foremost young talents in the field of Odissi dance, known for her technical virtuosity and creative approach to tradition. Arushi doesn’t visit the UK that often, so this is a rare opportunity to meet a world-renowned artist in this genre.
The format of the event will be an informal lecture-cum-performance. Arushi will speak briefly about the dance form, the repertoire of Odissi, dance technique etc., and introduce each piece she presents. Audience members will have a chance to try some hand gestures and expressions, as well as dance movements if they wish. This will be followed by a Q&A session with Arushi.
The only requirement for attending is to be ready to have some fun and wear comfortable clothing if you’re going to have a go at dancing!
