Feast of Fiddles: 30th Anniversary Tour

A feast indeed! Not just folk or folk rock, not just lots of fiddlers but a musical extravaganza covering almost every genre. Feast of Fiddles offer a musical journey full of joy, passion and lots of fun.

Born at Nettlebed Folk Club in Oxfordshire on Valentine s Day 1994 as a one off special concert, this folk rock big band now brings its 30th Anniversary Spring Tour to Cromer. Their achievements over the years include completing twenty eight spring tours twenty six festival appearances including Cromer, and seven albums, which is not bad for a band that was only doing one concert! Folk on the Pier producer, Scott Butler is delighted to bring them back to Cromer Pier on 25th April as a warm concert up before the main festival in May, itself in its twenty sixth year.

Recently described by the Nottingham Post as “a musical journey with a breath taking wall of sound” and “Absolutely awesome!” by Sue Marchant formerly of BBC East , they are a musical super group offering some of the best fiddle players of a generation. Featuring Gary Blakeley ( Band of Two, the Tabs ), Ian Cutler (Bull y Wee Band ), Marion Fleetwood Trad Arrr , Sandy Denny Project)Project), Simon Swarbrick (Merry Hell), Tom Leary Joe Brown) and Brian McNeill Battlefield Band), held together by legendary Fairport Convention drummer Dave Mattacks with Hugh Crabtree the boss and driving force behind the band on melodeon and vocals.
