First Light Festival

Norfolk

Taking place in the UK’s most easterly town of Lowestoft, First Light Festival celebrates the first sunrise of the summer solstice through a diverse weekend of music, science, dance, art, theatre wellbeing, food, drink and workshops.

Drawing inspiration from the town’s stunning natural landscapes of sandy beaches, walkable clifftops and far off horizons, this year’s free gathering offers a multitude of unique, creative experiences.

Wild camp under the stars and amongst the dunes. Gather by the water at dawn for a communal feast. Meet pioneering marine biologists and acclaimed authors; dance to legendary DJs spinning sounds from across the globe; get stuck in with a hands-on creative workshops, or sink your feet into sands for a shoreside wellbeing session.

With plenty to do for all ages, First Light Festival is a welcoming community gathering that celebrates shared experiences under Suffolk’s midsummer sun.

Sitting just on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, Lowestoft is an easy 40 minute train ride from Norwich, making it the perfect day trip to the beach.

In addition to the free festival programme, a handful of ticketed events are available for those who wish to truly make the most of the solstice weekend.

Wild Beach Camping now available, with full programme to be released in Spring 2023.
