Norwich Summer Sessions – Sarabanda & Salsa Class

Castle and Marketplace

Sarabanda is a 5-6 piece collective who play Cuban son and vibrant salsa with a serious groove.  Pianist Sara McGuinness sought out musicians with a passion for Cuban music to form a collective and the result is a powerful sextet with a big sound.

The collective’s obvious love of the music they play is evident in the passionate and exuberant arrangements of both original material and Cuban classics. It also features a host of wonderful musicians steeped in Cuban music and salsa including  bassist Jimmy Martinez and percussionists Emeris Solis, Bill Bland and Alejandro Martinez.

Jack is a professional Latin dance teacher based in Norwich. He discovered his passion for dance while studying at UEA and has since travelled all over, honing his craft and knowledge. As one of the owners of the Norwich Latin Dance School, he prides himself on creating a fun, inclusive atmosphere at his weekly dance classes at Karma Kafe every Thursday. He’s excited to be joining us on the 18th of August to share the joy of dance with you and introduce you to some thrilling Salsa and beautiful Bachata.
