Opera Unwrapped for Christmas

Norwich Lanes
Celebrate Christmas with Into Opera and Britten Sinfonia in a magical evening full of festive music on Friday 15th December at St Andrew’s Hall.

Opera Unwrapped is a classical concert series curated by Into Opera in which singers perform and ‘unwrap’ music for audiences – sharing personal stories, and comic anecdotes which truly bring the art form to life.

Look forward to an atmospheric night at St Andrews Hall, for one of the final concerts in this historic venue before its major refurbishment commences in the new year. We will celebrate with music including excerpts from Puccini’s La boheme, Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel and  Verdi’s La Traviata, as well as music from festive films including The Snowman and Meet me in St Louis and we’ll be including a wide array of Christmas classics too.

A concert guaranteed to bring that extra sparkle into your celebrations this Christmas.

Suitable for all ages.

Concert ends at approximately: 9:50pm (there will be a 25 minute interval)

Britten Sinfonia

Britten Sinfonia is an orchestra with a difference. Rather than being led by a principal conductor, it’s made up of outstanding individual musicians who come together as equals and make the important artistic decisions themselves, collectively and democratically. The results are electrifying. Rooted in the East of England, where it is the only professional orchestra working throughout the region, Britten Sinfonia also has a national and international reputation as one of the best ensembles playing today.

“Britten Sinfonia ought to enjoy national treasure status”

– The Telegraph, March 2023
