Stories To Be Told by Nicola Slattery

Cathedral Quarter
Norwich

Nicola Slattery RBA returns to Mandell’s Gallery in Norwich with an exhibition of her recent works. Included in the exhibition will be “Blue Bowl” which has a particular resonance with the historic quarter where the gallery is located.

“I have always felt a sense of gratitude to the Dutch for their many great painters whose work I admire. They also gave the world beautiful Delftware and were the source of many of England’s first refugees. Many of these “Strangers” and Huguenots settled in Norwich. They were known for their love of a caged Canary to sing whilst at their work. I have tried to encapsulate these elements in my painting and hope it reminds us of our connectivity to our European friends, refugees and our shared history.” Nicola Slattery
