Drop-Off/ Short Stay
The main drop-off points in Norwich cater to Norwich Castle, Norwich Cathedral, Norwich Theatre Royal and John Lewis Norwich.
- Bank Plain, NR2 1JT (opposite Bank Street): 1 space, maximum 15 minutes length of stay, for Norwich Lanes and Cathedral Quarter.
- Ber Street, NR1 3EU (adjacent to John Lewis): 2 spaces, maximum 15 minutes length of stay, for all attractions.
- Castle Meadow, NR1 3PY (adjacent to Castle Quarter): 2 spaces, maximum 15 minutes length of stay, for Norwich Castle and all attractions, best for coaches from the Norfolk coast and Broads National Park.
- Theatre Street, NR2 1RG (opposite Norwich Theatre Royal): 4 spaces, maximum 15 minutes length of stay, for Norwich Theatre Royal, Chantry Place, Norwich Market and The Forum, best for coaches for A11 or A47.
- Tombland, NR3 1RE (9.30am – 6.30pm): 1 space, maximum 15 minutes length of stay, for Norwich Cathedral, converts to overnight taxi rank after 6.30pm.
- Wherry Road, NR1 1WZ: 1 space, maximum 15 minutes length of stay, for Riverside and Carrow Road football ground.
Layover Parking
- King Street, NR1 2BU: on-street bays for 3 coaches, maximum 4 hours length of stay, FREE (no charges, no booking required), edge of city centre (10 minutes to Castle Quarter, 5 minutes to Riverside via footbridge).
- Rouen Road, NR1 1QP: on-street bay for 3 coaches, maximum 4 hours length of stay, FREE (no charges, no booking required), edge of city centre (10 minutes to Castle Quarter, 5 minutes to Riverside via footbridge).
- Thickthorn Park & Ride, NR9 3AU: unofficial layover parking for coaches- we recommend contacting First Bus Norfolk & Suffolk by calling 03456460707 or visiting the First Travel Centre on Castle Meadow, NR1 3DD.
Coach Companies Serving Norwich
Most coach companies serve Norwich during spring and summer and over the festive period from national and regional pick-up points, with some offering an all-year-round service. Please visit each coach company’s website for further details.
- Alfa offers an all-year-round service from pick-up points nationwide. They make day trips to Norwich during excursions to Cromer and Great Yarmouth (where they own hotels), Holkham and the Broads National Park, as well as Christmas trips to Thursford.
- Richmonds are based in Essex, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. They make day trips to Norwich between spring and autumn, as well as stopping in Norwich during overnight trips to Thursford in December and holidays to Hopton-On-Sea in spring.
- Johnsons travel to Norwich all-year-round from the West Midlands (including Birmingham and Warwickshire).
- Local Norfolk-based companies include Eastons, IC Travel, Wrights and Avanti.

Norwich City Hosts
As ambassadors and champions for Norwich, the City Hosts welcome, guide and assist visitors in Norwich. Made up of local volunteers out and about (rain or shine!) Monday to Saturday, the hosts can meet your coaches to help direct you, answer any questions, offer recommendations or provide maps.
You’ll recognise them from their distinctive blue ‘Here to Help’ tabards and friendly faces!
