February may be the shortest month of the year, but Norwich is still jam-packed with plenty to enjoy! Whether you’re here for a romantic Valentine’s weekend, celebrating National Storytelling Week or spending the half-term making unforgettable memories.
From live music line-ups and thought-provoking art exhibitions to theatre shows worth the wait, there’s something for all ages. Moreish meals await you during Norwich Food Week, whilst Norwich Science Festival is made for play (that goes for adults, too)! And for the little ones, there’s a roar-some day out awaiting you in Norfolk whatever the weather.

Knives and forks at the ready! The inaugural Norwich Food Week takes place for 10 days from the end of February
Across 10 food-filled days, the first-ever Norwich Food Week is celebrating the flavours and flair our city’s mouthwatering food scene is known for! Bringing together more than 50 restaurants, cafes, bars and venues across the city, there’s no better time to taste what’s on offer, whether you’re a visitor or a local.
Think specially created menus and exclusive offers priced between £5 and £35. From fine dining 3-course meals to undeniably good value coffee and cake deals, this is your chance to try somewhere new or celebrate your favourite Norwich eatery. All you have to do is download the app and discover the discounts!
Pizza Club x Wild Paths at Voodoo Daddy’s

Wild Paths x Pizza Club is bringing tons of great live music to Voodoo Daddy’s
You can always rely on Wild Paths for a fantastic line-up of live music. And this month (and next!), they’ve partnered with Pizza Club to put on a series of exciting gigs at Voodoo Daddy’s! With music styles varying from jazz to folk, rock to punk and more, there’s something to tempt every music lover.
There’s a high-energy, boundary-pushing collaboration between Levitation Orchestra and the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (Thursday 12 February, £12), before independent singer-songwriter Chloe Foy brings her ethereal voice and emotional lyrics to the stage (Thursday 19 February, £13). Or book tickets to The Howlers (Saturday 21 February, £15), one of the UK’s most exciting up-and-coming acts.
Waiting for Godot at the Maddermarket Theatre
11 – 15 February, 2.30pm & 7.30pm, £14.70

The Maddermarket’s intimate stage makes it ideal for Beckett’s paired back play
Samuel Beckett’s modern classic graces the Maddermarket stage this February. Following the conversations of Vladimir and Estragon as they wait for the titular character to arrive and meet unusual travellers Pozzo and Lucky, this is the play in which ‘nothing happens twice’.
Known for its religious, social and philosophical themes, you’ll soon be swept up in Beckett’s clever script and the Maddermarket’s intimate staging of this famous tragicomedy.
Norwich Science Festival
14 – 21 February, citywide, free & ticketed

Norwich Science Festival is packed with workshops, events and talks for adults and children
One of February’s most exciting events, Norwich Science Festival returns to The Forum and venues across the city for its 10th anniversary!
Taking place throughout February half-term, there’s an undeniably awesome programme for children, including the Explorer Dome (14 – 18 February, Norwich School, 9.30am – 4.50pm, £8), an inflatable planetarium with immersive projections and interactive shows; The Atom Stage- Yum or Yuck? (Sunday 15 February, The Forum, 10.15am, 12pm & 3.45pm, FREE), exploring the science behind taste with live experiments and demonstrations; and The Great Big Bug Show (Tuesday 17 February, Norwich Theatre Stage Two, 12pm & 2pm, from £10), a musical show about all the beautiful and weird bugs we encounter across the world.
And there’s plenty for the big kids, too, including a wonderful selection of adult-only events, talks and workshops. Take Explorium Lates (Friday 13 February, The Forum, 7.30pm – 9.45pm, £15, includes a drink), a pre-festival celebration where adults can get stuck in in The Explorium after hours for the first time ever! Or how about Do Humans Dream of Electric Gods? (Monday 16 February, The Forum, 1pm – 2pm, FREE), which explores how films, books and TV shows can teach us about AI. And for something more relaxed, there’s Market to the Marshes (Saturday 21 February, starting at The Forum, 11am – 1pm, FREE), a friendly, guided walk to Sweet Briar Marshes. Expect bird-spotting, plant tips and stories of nature and rewilding in Norwich.

Counting Sheep at The Garage

Counting Sheep is an interactive and fun show to introduce little ones to theatre
The Garage is well known for its creative performing arts programme- it’s the perfect place for your little ones to first encounter the magic of the theatre.
Their latest show Counting Sheep is a sensory journey into the joys and frustrations of bedtime everyone can relate to! Two sheep think they know everything about sleep- you might say they’re experts in their field. So why are they wide awake?
Made for 0 – 3-year-olds (and their adults!), a stay and play session follows the 30-minute performance, letting them enjoy this adventure that little bit longer.
Olivia Sterling: Pity the Meat! at East Gallery

Norwich University of the Arts’ East Gallery is a brilliant space to see up-and-coming artists like Olivia Sterling
One to watch, East Anglian artist Olivia Sterling is bringing her contemporary painting style to Norwich University of the Arts’ East Gallery in a brand-new exhibition titled Pity the Meat!
Side by side with the Sainsbury Centre’s Two Figures in a Room (1959) by Francis Bacon, Sterling’s works explore the distortion of the human form under social and psychological pressure, be it internal trauma or themes of race, culture and identity. She blends politically charged messages with a hint of humour and relatability, that make her energetic strokes and playful colour palettes sure to catch your eye.

Star Night at Fairhaven Woodland & Water Garden

See if you can spot Saturn at Fairhaven’s stargazing event
One of the best things about our county’s wide-open skies is the chance to see so many incredible constellations and planets when it’s dark. And with Fairhaven Woodland & Water Garden’s upcoming Star Night, you might even get the chance to see Saturn!
Under the expert guidance of local astrophotographer Shaun Reynolds, you can expect exciting telescope-guided stargazing, cosmic talks, and a celestial slideshow! So, wrap up warm and treat yourself to a comforting and hearty meal while you’re here. Embrace the tranquility of Fairhaven’s beautiful 130 acre site and look up. This is sure to be a stellar experience.

Let your little ones run wild at Dinomite Indoor Adventure- Norfolk’s largest indoor soft play area, where slides, ballpits and rope swings await, before embracing your inner dinosaur with role play at Dippy-Ville. On weekends only, there are tabletop games, interactive play pads and more in ROARR!’s Explorers restaurant, where parents can also treat themselves to a hot drink or tasty treat as they watch their little ones play.
