In the heart of Norwich’s much-loved Golden Triangle, The Unthank Arms is a characterful local with a long history and a fresh new feel. Family-run for over 35 years, the pub has recently been refurbished, blending its Victorian heritage with a more contemporary style that makes it just as welcoming to first-time visitors as it is to regulars.
The Unthank combines period charm with a relaxed, lively atmosphere. The traditional bar offers cosy corners, a real fire and a proper pub buzz, while the light-filled upstairs dining room provides a more spacious setting for longer, laid-back meals. Together, they create a place that works just as well for a quick pint as for a full evening out.
Food is at the heart of what we do. Our seasonal menus focus on generous, flavour-packed dishes made with care, whether you’re joining us for a relaxed weekday lunch, a catch-up with friends over dinner, or one of our much-loved Sunday roasts. These have become something of a local tradition, drawing families and groups together for classic plates done properly. Look out for the great value pasta and free wine deal on Mondays and Tuesdays!
Behind the bar, you’ll find a thoughtfully chosen range of wines, local beers, real ales, spirits and cocktails so there’s always something interesting to drink, whatever your taste.
Upstairs at The Unthank Arms is also a popular spot for celebrations and gatherings, with spaces suited to everything from informal get-togethers to special occasions – we host amazing weddings!
With a large garden at the rear as well as parking we’re an oasis in the heart of the chimney pots of NR2. Above all, The Unthank remains what it has always been at heart: a warm, welcoming Norwich pub where good food, good drink and good company come together.
