Join naturalist and NWT Ambassador Nick Acheson for a relaxed walk through the streets of Norwich, uncovering the nature that persists even in our most human-dominated spaces.
You won’t need abundant wildlife to find plenty to notice – a lichen on a wall, a gull riding a thermal between rooftops, a stubborn plant in a crack of pavement. Nick will point out these small, easily-missed signs of life and explain what they’re doing there, how they survive, and what they tell us about the city as a habitat.
Along the way, he’ll also explore how this everyday nature has shaped art, story and imagination throughout history, and continues to inspire creativity today.
Expect a gentle pace, plenty of stopping to look and listen, and a naturalist’s-eye view of a city you thought you knew.
This walk will be starting at St Andrews Hall as part of the Wild by Design event . Please arrive 15 minutes before the walk begins and speak to someone at the entrance.
