Eating Vegan in Norwich!

Did you know Norwich is one of the top cities in the UK to eat vegan? The food scene in the City of Stories is pretty exceptional, from amazing street food from Norwich Market, to bistro dining, to luxury meals. So it’s no surprise that our plant-based catering is just as tasty!

Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, flexitarian, or just in the mood for some exceptional plant-based dining, Norwich is the city for you. There are plenty of amazing veggie-specialty dining options, and you’ll almost definitely find a vegan option on every menu.

Norwich Market

Open daytimes Monday – Saturday, Norwich Market has a smorgasbord of delicacies! It’s the place to head for quick lunches, delicious take-out, and exceptional vegan food. If you’re in the mood for Asian inspired meals head straight to Bun Box for donburi bowls or bao buns (or both, we don’t  judge here), or Indian Feast for some truly delicious curries. Falafel & Friends have an extensive vegan menu, including (surprise) amazing falafel wraps, aubergine schnitzel, and ramen!

Or go for a market classic – chips, with lashings of salt & vinegar, from Lucy’s Chips. If you’re in the mood for something sweet – head to the Cuppie Hut! There’s plenty more vegan food on the market: just take a wander down the aisles to find out.

Tofurei

Pop down to Norwich Lanes and you’ll find the 100% vegan café, where they make all their own tofu from locally grown soya beans! With wonderful savoury dishes, and gorgeous sweet treats, you’ll be in vegan heaven – and you can grab some frozen bake-at-home pastries to enjoy later too.

Tipsy Vegan

Small plates rule at the Tipsy Vegan, with a tapas selection that spans the globe. From kimchi pancakes to cauliflower tacos, there’s something to tickle every kind of taste bud! And it’s not just about the food – the décor is gorgeous, and the cocktails are even better.

Moorish

Totally vegan, from the feta to the hummus, Moorish’s selection includes dolma, salad bowls, falafel wraps, and amazing burgers. Their food is mediterranean inspired, and totally delicious – and they’ve got two locations now too: check them out on the Norwich Lanes, or the Golden Triangle. Ps. Don’t miss their soft serve ice-cream.

Café Gelato

A much-loved Norwich favourite, Café Gelato has an excellent rage of sorbets – perfect for those light desserts, when you just can’t fit another bite in… We recommend getting two scoops (naturally), and asking for their recommendations, as flavours change with the season!

Cupcake & Co

Pop up to Upper St Giles for a delicious vegan treat – they stock brilliant cupcakes, biscuits, and much more! Cupcake & Co have a selection of vegan treats available daily, including a very moreish peanut butter cup. If you get there early enough, you could even grab a bunch of flowers to take home.

Little Shop of Vegans & Rainbow Wholefoods

Looking for those vegan basics? Stocking up at home? Need seitan, cashew cheese, nutritional yeast, or something else entirely? Both Little Shop of Vegans and Rainbow Wholefoods have a great selection of essentials and those hard to find items.

The Big Name Favourites

Visiting Norwich and want to go for something familiar? Grab a burger at Gourmet Burger Kitchen, BrewDog, or Byron’s. Head to Wagamama for that vegatsu curry, or Yo Sushi for vegan sushi, or Giggling Squid for Thai-inspired dishes. In the mood for Italian – we’ve got Pizza Express, Ask, Zizzi’s and Bella Italia!
