2.5 hour workshop!
Come and have a go at linocut printmaking… surrounded by cats!
These linocut printmaking workshops are cat themed – together you will each be creating a unique print of a cat of your choice either by sketching one of the cats here or tracing from a cat themed book or photograph. These workshops always sell out, so be sure to book early to guarantee your place.
These workshops are aimed at beginners and more experienced linocut printmakers alike. Tuition is available for complete beginners, and those with more experience are welcome to come and chat about linocut printmaking to develop their style.
We will begin by either tracing a cat from a book/photograph, or sketching a simple cat design onto paper – bring a favourite image with you if you wish. Once this is transferred onto your linocut block, we will begin carving our design onto lino blocks using beginner cutting tools. This will take up the majority of the workshop as we slowly chip away at our design (adding lots of lovely fur detail!) before rolling on ink and pulling a couple of prints by hand – using a wooden spoon – to take away with you.
Linocut cutting tools, blocks and ink are provided. You are welcome to bring your own linocut tools to use and different paper types should you wish to experiment.
Each session will include a free drink and time to hang out with the cats, with further drinks and sweet treats available to purchase too.
Please note: these workshops are for ages 16 and up.
