Castle and Marketplace
Correspondence brings together paintings, animation and moving-image installation by Norwich-based artist Ian St John Cross.
Working with chance, repetition and free association, Cross allows images to meet in unexpected ways. His paintings and films explore the connections that emerge between seemingly unrelated forms, inviting viewers to make their own associations.
At the centre of the exhibition is a generative film installation whose shifting combinations of imagery and sound unfold alongside paintings and smaller video works. Together, they offer a space for looking, listening and discovering connections.
