My name is Alex Pidgen, Market and Events Manager at Marketplace Europe, specialists in delivering vibrant, high-quality markets across the UK and Northern Ireland.
We deliver bespoke international, continental, and food markets into towns, cities, events, and festivals, working with both local authorities and private event companies. We have run markets in diverse locations such as Belfast City Hall, Cleethorpes Seafront, Nottingham City Centre, Torquay, Lincoln City Centre, as well as events like the Bedford River Festival and the Derry Maritime Festival, along with many other markets across the country.
Our markets offer a unique visitor experience, including fresh artisan products like breads and pastries baked on-site, authentic street food from France, Greece, Spain, China, and India, as well as crafts including Baltic Amber, German jewellery, and Spanish ceramics. We tailor our markets to complement local events or operate as standalone experiences, supporting town centre BIDs, economic development, and High Street footfall.
We are a self-contained operation, producing all risk assessments and event management plans, coordinating power and refuse with national suppliers and councils, and generating additional income for local authorities.
We have also run a Northern Ireland tour for several years, and in 2026 this will be extended to 4 weeks, starting in Cookstown, moving to Newtownards, Enniskillen, Belfast, and finishing in Coleraine. Additionally, we are planning to add additional key towns and destinations to our Market Programme, with Norwich as a potential new venue.
