Nestled in the sheltered, sun-soaked fields of Bergh Apton, South Norfolk (just 8 miles from Norwich), Chet Valley is a single estate vineyard spanning over 10 hectares of family-owned land, producing a sustainably maintained range of high-quality grapes, from champagne varieties to Germanic crosses.
Benefitting from the English vineyard’s rich terroir, alongside the skills of passionate winemaker John Hemmant, their carefully curated final bottles form a collection of award-winning artisan English wines year-on-year, from fruit-forward rosés to aromatic whites with a wide range of still and sparkling wines.
The Wine
Led by the award-winning Skylark range, their selection of wine bottles features a number of aromatic whites, red made with Swiss variety Cabernet Noir, and characterful rosés. The stunning result of Chet’s bold fusion of traditional and innovative techniques, their wide range of critically acclaimed wines is at the heart of their offerings. Wine Tasting Tours
Enjoy tutored tasting of five Chet Valley Wines to include sparkling wines on your Vineyard Tasting Tour. The Vine House sleeps up to six people across two double and one twin bedroom so great for a group of friends or family yet also a cosy place to stay as a couple wanting to get away for it all.
Recently converted, it is a single-storey stable building with a kitchen and patio doors onto a paved courtyard from the lounge with views of the vines (great sunsets). Featuring lofty, naturally inspired spaces, it is graced by exposed timber frames, alongside every wine holiday cottage essential – from hairdryers to a wood burner – this tranquil sanctuary is truly a home away from home. And a great bolthole all year round.
