Norwich Castle

Castle and Marketplace

One of the city’s most famous landmarks, Norwich Castle was built by the Normans over 900 years ago. The medieval keep is currently closed for a major redevelopment that will transform it to its former glory as a Royal Palace; it is due to reopen in 2024.

The museum and art gallery remain open, showcasing outstanding collections of fine art, archaeology and natural history to inspire and intrigue visitors of all ages. The galleries also host an exciting temporary exhibition programme.

Lower admission prices have been introduced to reflect the fact some areas of the Castle are closed. Check the website for details.
