A Family Day Out in Norwich

We all know that keeping the kids entertained for a day is no easy feat. But head into the city centre, and you’ll find lots to get the little ones smiling. Why not spend a day at Chantry Place for a fun-filled family day out? Just park up in the centre’s car park and let the enjoyment begin! Here’s our round-up of things to do at Chantry Place.

Family fun

Want to find something that will entertain your whole tribe? Or do you want to experience something a little different and make some memories?

We recommend…

Escape Hunt

Escape Hunt is the place to spend an adrenaline and fun-fuelled hour or two. If your family loves a challenge then head to Escape Hunt and work together on a range of immersive challenges, virtual reality games and the world-renowned escape rooms. It has an age limit of 8 years and over, and games include Doctor Who, Alice in Puzzleland, Aladdin, Jungle Quest and many more.

A selfie at the rainbow

You can’t help but smile when you spot Chantry Place’s rainbow, which adds some magic and colour to Chantry Square. It is the perfect spot for a selfie, which would make for a lovely family photo to hang on the wall. Spot the stickers on the rainbow to see which local partners, charities, and community partners the Centre is currently supporting.

Treat yourself (and the kids)

If you’re heading to Chantry Place, you must make time for a little shopping spree. From toys for the kids, to jewellery for mum and games for dad, there’s lots to discover.

We recommend…

A tour of toy shops

Chantry Place is home to brands children love. There’s Build-A-Bear, The Works, Claire’s, Flying Tiger and Langleys! At Build-A-Bear you can make your own soft toys and custom teddy bears, while Langleys has all the latest must-haves, and has been bringing joy to children since Victorian times. Kids will also love colourful stationary brand, Smiggle, which is also a great place to experiment, prod and play. While older children and teenagers will enjoy heading to Apple, Game, HMV, and House of Fraser for the latest tech, music, games and more.

Updating your wardrobe

With summer upon us it’s the perfect time to spruce up our wardrobes! Great shops that have fantastic children’s ranges (as well as plenty of choice for the parents) are Monsoon, H&M, House of Fraser, Hugo Boss, Hollister and Zara.

A family feast

After a busy day in escape rooms and shopping for clothes, gifts and more, you’ll be hungry for a break and some delicious food. Luckily, there’s a whole range of options to tempt the whole family.

We recommend…

Shaking it up

Treat the little ones in between shopping to a scrumptious Shaake, or perhaps you can try something new, with a Bubble CiTea?

A quick fix

Sometimes you just need a quick, hearty meal to chomp down. If that’s the case, why not head over to Pizza Hut, Subway, McDonald’s or Wagamama’s?

A sit-down meal

Byron is the place to go to treat the whole family to burgers and chips. Ed’s Easy Diner is a great American themed eatery with nachos, wings, and hotdogs to tuck into. Or for something a little sophisticated why not opt for sushi at YO!

For an easy family day out, there’s plenty of choice at Chantry Place. Plus, keep an eye on its events page to discover what’s on this summer, including a prehistoric visitor as part of the GoGoDiscover T.rex trail!
