Celebrate Refugee Week with us. Family Open Day on 15 June is open to all and a special day of welcome for all refugee and asylum seeking families and a chance to acknowledge the power of communities. Take part if immersive storytelling with Sara Stanley and her beautiful picture book about one family’s migration story, One Button and the Sea, hear traditional story telling from the Sanctuary Ambassadors, those with lived experience.
The book nook will feature titles for children from our Schools of Sanctuary book list, there will be Moomin themed activities and refreshments available to all visitors. Come and get creative, share a story and a picnic at Dragon Hall.
Sara Stanley
Sara Stanley is a children’s author and educational consultant based in Norwich. With over 30 years of experience working with children and families, she specialises in creating imaginative worlds that inspire early literacy and play-based enquiry. Their latest publication, One-Button and the Sea, was nominated for the prestigious Carnegie Medal. Their workshops are designed to build questioning and thinking skills, encouraging young learners to challenge prejudice in all its forms.
