Norwich Theatre Playhouse

Creative quarter (Over the Water)

Update July 2020

Norwich Playhouse is currently closed for performance, however the bar remains open .. with a twist. The stage has been adapted to hold tables and seating so that you can be the star of the show!

Pre-March 2020

This city-centre theatre is known for its quirky, offbeat and brilliant shows, and its ever popular bar. A firm favourite across Norwich, The Playhouse brings big-name comedians, fantastic Fringe productions, magnificent music, amazing drama, great family shows and so much more to the region. The intimate 300 seat auditorium has just been refurbished, and is even more comfortable than before.

Attached to the theatre is the leafy riverside terrace and outstanding bar, complete with ever-changing artwork and a selection of local ales and more exotic drinks, as well as teas, coffees, hot chocolates and hot cider. Interval drinks are always available, and the bar is open until midnight for after-show discussions and drinks. Dogs on leads are allowed in the Playhouse Bar, and under 18s are welcome up to 7pm and later if watching or performing in a show.

All public areas have disabled access, guide dogs are welcome and The Playhouse uses the Sennheiser infra-red hearing system in the auditorium. Disabled parking and discounted tickets are available.
