This guided walking tour, with Norwich tour guide Paul Dickson starts outside The Forum. The tour celebrates the diverse contribution of black people to the history of Norwich and Norfolk from street traders in the 18th and 19th centuries to Pablo Fanque, the UK’s first black circus impresario, the American servicemen who brought rhythm and blues and soul music to the city and Lucas the 1960s US airman, who settled in Norfolk, and gave soul to the Orford Cellar.
Nestled along an idyllic stretch of the River Wensum and just a stone’s throw from Norwich, Taverham Mill boasts a dog-friendly nature reserve, Highland Cattle, fishing lakes, a play area, cosy café, seasonal canoe hire, and even overnight accommodation!

This 2-hour guided walking tour celebrates the architectural legacy of the great Norwich architects Edward Boardman and George Skipper. Boardman was active in Norwich from 1860 to 1900 and was heavily involved in the development of Victorian Norwich.

This guided walk starts outside the Maids Head Hotel in Tombland (NR3 1LB), the 10th century Anglo-Danish Market Place, then heads along the river from the Quayside, the original Anglo-Scandinavian port, passing St James’ Mill, Cow Tower and Bishop’s Bridge to Pull’s Ferry, the Cathedral’s 15th century water gate.
