Lord Mayor’s Celebration Weekend

Norwich

Pack your picnic blankets, grab your sunglasses, and get ready for a blooming brilliant weekend! From Friday 11 to Sunday 13 July 2025, Norwich city centre will come alive with music, entertainment, and family fun as Lord Mayor’s Weekend transforms the city.

Kick off your weekend with a free evening of live music from Norwich Summer Sessions on Friday 11 July, 5pm – 8pm:

  • 5pm – Kitty Perrin (Indie Pop)
  • 6pm – DJ Steve ‘Scratch’ Wurly
  • 6:45pm – Dumbfoundus (Beach Pop)

On Saturday 12 July, get ready for a magical day of free family fun from midday to 6pm at Chapelfield Gardens and Hay Hill, followed by the Official After Party at the Waterfront from 9pm (booking advised). Saturday also includes the Lord Mayor’s Procession– the centrepiece of the Lord Mayor’s Celebration – an open and welcoming summertime festival in the heart of Norwich.

The procession, the second oldest carnival in the UK, began in medieval times with the Norwich Guild to welcome the new Lord Mayor.

Then on Sunday 13 July, it’s the return of the Norwich Lanes Summer Fayre. Explore the vibrant streets of the Norwich Lanes from 11am to 5pm, when they’ll be filled with:

  • Independent markets
  • Live bands and DJs
  • Walkabout performers
  • In-store entertainment and promotions
  • Street food and museum access
  • Family-friendly activities in hidden venues
